When we have sex with a willing partner, we experience what Martinus calls “the highest fire”. The highest fire is in reality an expression of the spirit of God, or what has also been denominated “the holy spirit”.
Having sex is the most sublime experience we can have
It is the most sublime experience we can have on the physical plane, and no other experience can match it. It is through our sexual organs that we can ´touch´ the divine plane of existence and thus our sexual organs become the ´holy of holies´. It is very important for our mental and physical well-being to have sex, so banning it as a sin just shows an abysmal ignorance of the true nature of this sublime and divine experience.
Sexuality is an out-stretched hand from God
As we are passing the darkness of the physical plane, which we are doing right now, sexuality is a very important out-stretched hand from the divine plane of existence to give us glimpses of God´s primary consciousness and thus help us endure the hardships, troubles and problems we face here during our passage of darkness. Sexuality is really God´s ´life-vest´ thrown to us on the wild and stormy sea of our passage of darkness.
Is sex sinful?
Sexuality has been much misunderstood and even pronounced sinful and ´dirty´ by certain religions. Banning it as sinful and forcing young men and women to live in celibacy shows an abysmal ignorance of this divine act. Martinus says that sex is very important for our mental and physical health, and if we do not have a sexual partner, we can simply help ourselves and have sex with an imagined partner. So here there is another ´sinful´ concept that Martinus does away with.
At the same time as sexuality is an out-stretched hand from the Divine level of existence, it secures the propagation of the species, so that spiritual beings can reincarnate in physical matter.

If according to Martinus the human species, as they develop their sexuality, will move away from the traditional role of marriage and may have several sexual relationships, then I wander about the following:
(1) If one is married then secretely having other sexual relatioships (adultery) is spiritually wrong as you are being deceptive and hurt your marrital partner.
(2) If one is not married but in a committed relationship then (1) above still applies because trust and respect seems to be very correlated with the emotions of fidelity. Non fidelity seems to break relationships. It seems difficult to just seperate physical sex from the emotional bond which gives rise to this need for fidelity.
(3) How does one explain away the bibles views on fornication (sexual relationships outside of marriage?)
(3) How do children cope in a world where marriage would be less and less considered necessary in human development, as the need for a family seems to be very important for their overall emotional and psychological stable development. Who would they bond with?
I have difficulties in trying to understand the true role of sexuality in spiritual terms as we go on in our journey individually and collectively. So I raise these questions. I am challenged to find the “good” answer!!
