The biggest lie in Western societies – and we don’t have to live with it
This lie affects most aspects of our lives: our perception of what life is all about, of death, of the meaning of life, of the justice in the world, of how we live, how we create our future and much more.
What can this big lie be? Well, it is the firm belief in the one-life theory.
This never-proved theory claims that we are identical to our physical body and that when the body dies, it is lights out forever. It simply states that this is the only life we live.
In the wake of this miserable theory we have extreme egoism, because we think that we have to get the most out of our one life. So we rob, steal, harm and kill other living beings to get the biggest slice of the cake. We let greed rule our actions without having the least idea about the consequences.
Because we firmly believe in the one-life theory we think that we can hurt, harm and kill without consequences for ourselves. We think that we will go scot-free because we see that other murderers get away with it.
In actual fact the whole miserable state of the world right now is rooted in the belief that we only live once.
Some countries think they are superior to others and shoot, bomb and murder people from other countries just to boost their own egos and feel powerful and mighty.
We are much more than our present physical body
The miserable one-life theory is rooted in the conviction that only visible, physical matter is real and that nothing survives the death of the body. But it has never been proved that nothing survives death, so the one-life theory is nothing more than a belief. It is not a fact.
Actually, what survives death is not visible and physical, so because we cannot see it, we don’t think it exists. But this is highly illogical, and it clashes with the now firmly established fact that invisible energy is everywhere. We also know that around our body we have an energy field in the shape of our aura. The aura surrounds our body and extends about 50 cm. around it on all sides. The aura has been intensely studied, so it is not as if we do not know we have one. Many people can see auras and sense those of others.
The auric energy field survives death each and every time we lose a physical body. It is identical to what has traditionally been called the soul, but because traditional religions are losing foothold, these religious concepts just confuse many people.
It is becoming clear that our auric energy field is identical to our consciousness, so it is NOT limited to the brain. Our consciousness holds our I and all information about who we are. In fact we can say that we ARE our consciousness, and, in this way, we are primarily electrical or energy beings. The physical body is just an instrument we use for our sojourn on the physical plane. Our primary identity is energy beings and because energy cannot be created or destroyed, we are eternal beings. Our existence has no beginning and no ending. If it had, it would not be eternal. This means that life is not something we can lose. It is obvious that we can lose a physical body, but it is important to underline that we are not that body.
Our real identity is indestructible
We are first and foremost energy beings, also referred to as spiritual beings. We always have our spiritual body. But from time to time, we have a physical body in addition to our spiritual body. That is when we are reincarnated in a physical body on a physical planet.
When the physical body is no longer useful, be it due to injury, illness or old age, we pull our consciousness out of the body, which now lies there inert and still. It is still because it has now lost its energy source, which was in the consciousness. Our consciousness is our storeroom for our experiences over many lives and also our life force.
When the consciousness has pulled out of the body, it is attracted, via the law of attraction, to a destination in the spiritual world (a light world of thought) that it is on wavelength with. In this process our consciousness field with our I will land among like-minded beings due to the workings of the law of attraction: like attracts like.
After a good rest on the spiritual plane, we have to go back to the physical world to get on with our evolution towards becoming real, finished human beings. So we reincarnate. You can read how this process takes place here: https://newspiritualscience.com/how-does-reincarnation-take-place/
Death is an illusion
Now, our many lives in physical matter only have one purpose: to teach us a lot of lessons, so that we can become real, finished human beings. We are not there yet, and many humans are still worse than predators, because they kill others, go to war, torture and maim. They are the least evolved, the most primitive and egoistic beings alive here. The altruistic ones, the peace makers, the helpers and the compassionate ones are the most evolved. They are closer to becoming real human beings than the warmongers.
The great pedagogic tool of the universe
How do we become peaceful, altruistic beings? We do so because there is a fantastic pedagogic tool in the universe: The law of karma, which in all its simplicity decrees that we reap as we sow. Or put in another way: What we do to others, we eventually do to ourselves. We sow karma every day, and this karma will come back to us as our fate, in this life or in a future life. We have so much karma that not all of it can be released in the same life as it was sown, so it will be released in a later life.
This means that the warmongers may not reap what they sowed in the same life. But one thing is certain: they will reap it. It is like watching a horror movie to see what dreadful karma is being sown today in the war zones of Gaza and Ukraine. The aggressors may believe that they are winning, and they may celebrate their gruesome “victories”, totally unaware of the miserable fate they have sowed for themselves in future lives. The law of karma is relentless, you will reap killings, bombings, torture and murder as long as you are still practicing it. Once you stop killing and become a peace lover who cannot hurt a fly, your old dark karma will be erased from your “karmic account book”. This shows that karma is not a punishment, but a loving instruction, solely aimed at converting us into real, finished human beings.
And let me underline this: The strictest justice rules the universe. You cannot reap a fate that you have not sown yourself. Nobody is a martyr and nobody suffers unjustly. Each and every one of us is solely responsible for his or her own fate. But when you are a firm believer in the one-life theory you are blind to this fact. Nobody can understand their fate seen in the one-life theory.
You are free to discard the one-life theory
The one-life theory is an outdated, uninformed theory that is harmful to an enlightened understanding of the world. And just because a lot of other people swear by it, because it was passed down to them, does not mean that YOU have to subscribe to it.
It is easy to discard this theory once you start studying spiritual science and the evidence for the survival of human consciousness after death, such as the many accounts from people who had a near-death experience, the many accounts from children who remember former lives and the beautiful work of Michael Newman, who spent his life documenting the healing effects of regression therapy – just to mention a few. You can read about all the evidence in my book: “The Best available evidence for the survival of human consciousness after permanent physical death” here: bit.ly/4fnapB1

The one-life theory blocks our understanding of how we create our fate and how to create peace on Earth. It also blocks our understanding of who we really are, because who we are today is the result of the reaping of experiences over many former lives. Our personality, our many talents, our habits and tendencies were shaped in former lives. How can we account for the talents we are born with without taking former lives into account? Please read my blogpost about talents here: https://newspiritualscience.com/what-do-our-talents-reveal-about-our-past-lives/
Imagine
Imagine a world where we all know that death is an illusion and that death is not something to fear. Imagine a world where the workings of the law of karma have become ingrained as knowledge in our world view. Imagine a world where we all know that what we do to others, we eventually do to ourselves. Image a world where we all serve each other, a world without egoistic war-mongering and narcissistic, self-serving presidents with huge egos. Imagine world peace. It will come when enough of us have been converted from egoistic to altruistic beings that can only sow love.
